Joana Vasconcelos, internationally recognized, has selected more than forty of her works to be exhibited in this intervention, a great journey through her artistic process. These facilities are perfectly integrated into the different rooms of the palace, some of which have not yet been visited, such as the chapel, the music room and the gardens.
For the first time, visitors can visit the rooms and gardens of the Liria Palace on a free visit with the option of a digital audio guide, where contemporary pieces will be narrated by the artist herself, or on a guided tour.
Born in 1971, Joana Vasconcelos is a Portuguese visual artist with a career spanning more than 30 years and a wide variety of media. Recognized for its monumental sculptures and immersive installations, it decontextualizes everyday objects and updates the concept of arts and crafts for the 21st century, establishing a dialogue between the private sphere and public space, popular heritage and refined culture.
Vasconcelos questions the status of women, consumer society and collective identity with humor and irony.
El Palacio de Liria es la residencia oficial de la Casa de Alba y contiene una de las colecciones privadas histórico-artísticas más importantes del mundo.
